Very-low-operating-current SOA-gate modules for optical matrix switches

Abstract

SOA gate modules of 1.55-μm wavelength were fabricated for matrix switching. A low operating current of 9.7 mA on average and extinction ratios of more than 40 dB were achieved over 80 modules.
