Compact SOA-based preamplified receiver module for 20Gb/s applications

Abstract

A compact SOA-filter-pin preamplified photoreceiver module at 1.55 μm is presented with - 31.4 dBm sensitivity at 10 Gbits/s, and - 24.7 dBm at 20 Gbit/s. Wavelength tunability and dynamic range are discussed.
