Upstream Burst-mode Experiments using Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers as Repeaters for a SuperPON

Abstract

This paper demonstrates that a SuperPON can service 2048 optical network units over a range of 55 km with a dynamic range of 21 dB using three semiconductor optical amplifiers in cascade.
