Abstract

A 1.5 W, the highest of our knowledge, signal output power erbium doped fiber amplifier was developed with only field-use reliable components, employing a three- channel wavelength division-multiplexed pumping technique of the 1480 nm pump lasers with fiber Bragg gratings as externa1 cavity.
