Abstract

Using the NGP technique, we observe a gain enhancement in the NGP spectrum of an EDFA when a shorter saturating signal wavelength is used as compared to when a longer saturating wavelength is used. We attribute the gain enhancement to cross-pumping by the saturating signal.
