Distributed measurements of spectral gain saturation in Erbium-doped fibers

Abstract

Distributed spectral gain-saturation effects of Erbium doped fiber were measured using Coherent Reflectometry. Spectral hole burning and distributed gain are related, so that spectral performance can be improved by a proper choice of fiber length.
