Abstract

We demonstrate that an Erbium Ytterbium co-doped fiber amplifier pumped at 1480 nm has high efficiency and very low non-linearity. We used only eight pump lasers and achieved more than 30 dB gain and 760 mW total output of eight channels without generating any significant four-wave mixing.
