Abstract
The Symmetric Mach-Zehnder (SMZ) all-optical switch is quite promising for various types of future high-speed all-optical processing. We describe the ultrafast, high-repetition, and highly efficient capabilities of the semiconductor optical amplifier-based SMZ all-optical switch, with focusing on error-free 168-Gbps demultiplexing with the hybrid-integrated SMZ switch.
