Abstract

We theoretically study the Raman-induced power tilt in wavelength-division- multiplexed systems and show that it can be drastically reduced in a distributed dual-pumped Raman amplification scheme. In addition, we observe that four-wave mixing is responsible for periodic power exchanges that alter the Raman tilt.
