Dynamic Gain Excursion Suppression in High-Speed Automatically Gain Controlled EDFAs Using an Optical Delay Line

Abstract

We have studied the dynamic behavior of high-speed automatically gain controlled erbium-doped fiber amplifiers pumped at 980 nm. Employing an optical delay line in the amplifiers, the maximum dynamic gain excursions can be reduced.
