Abstract

Recent advances in ultralong-haul transmission technologies are reviewed. After brief description of the latest 10 Gbit/s-based terabit submarine systems at commercially deployable stage, recent studies on multi-terabit systems and 20/40 Gbit/s-based WDM systems are discussed.
