Noise and Linearity Investigation on SOA-Modulators in SCM Systems

Abstract

The semiconductor optical amplifier (SO A) can be used as an efficient high-speed modulator in subcarrier multiplexed (SCM) systems. The modulation response, the noise performance and nonlinear behavior of SOAs are investigated and experimentally demonstrated.
