Recovery Dynamics of the ‘Turbo-Switch’

Abstract

The gain and phase dynamics of an optically excited ‘turbo-switch’ are measured for the first time. The results indicate potential for wavelength conversion at speeds >170Gbit/s, and optical regeneration at input pulse energies ~ 250fJ.
