Noise Filtering and Pulse Shaping in SOA-Based 2R Regenerators

Abstract

The integrating effect of the slow nonlinearity in SOAs is shown to have a critical influence on noise filtering and pulse shaping. Simulations and theory show that up to twenty 2R regenerators may be concatenated.
