Generalized aspheres in high-volume camera production

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Since 1973 the Polaroid SX-70 camera and newer models that have evolved from it have contained two injection-molded generalized aspheric lenses, and millions have been manufactured. Continuing work with design, manufacture, and testing of optical systems based on generalized aspheres has led to new product capabilities.
