Wandering of laser beams due to a thick turbulent layer along the path

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The effect of the position and thickness of a layer of turbulence on a laser beam wandering is theoretically investigated. Using a simple model of turbulence, the wandering of a beam and the correlation of the wandering of two parallel beams are evaluated for small fluctuations.
