Method of digital phase demodulation used in metrology grating technology

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

This paper describes a new method of detecting moire signals produced by radial gratings in phase, based on digital signal processing. The system, whose core is a microcomputer, was designed to convert the moire signal in digital data. Because the technique of digital frequency analysis is used in analyzing the digital moire signal, it is possible to study quantitatively the performance figure of the moire signal and the characteristics of the driving system. By processing the digital moire signal, the phase of any point plotted on the moire contour is detected and the signal can be divided in hundreds. Instead of analog processors, the effect of digital processors may be super. In particular, it is possible to improve the accuracy of detecting radial gratings.
