Abstract
At the heart of an expert system is an inference engine. Within the last few months a number of workers (Warde, Szu, et al.) have shown that spatial light modulators offer the ability to make multiple inferences on multiple, uncertain inputs in parallel. Using page oriented holographic memory to store information and program the spatial light modulators allows us to process data at a rate limited only by the number of pixels per second that can be changed on the spatial light modulator. Numerical examples on capacity and speed are discussed.
