Determination of the phase dispersion of a wide-band multilayer high-reflective coating using multibeam interference

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

In research on a gaining ultrashort pulse using the mode-locked technique, the phase dispersion (PD) effect of the optical elements has a great influence on the pulse shape, in particular the PD second-order derivative broadens the pulse width. The PD compensation can be anticipated by an appropriate choice of coating system design and by controlling the coating manufacturing techniques.
