Abstract
The wedged shearing plate interferometer is a very useful and simple device for the analysis of optical wavefronts. Its use is limited to sources with coherence length greater than the optical path difference between the two exiting beams. The triangular shearing interferometer, on the other hand, is an equal path device without tilt when used in the conventional way.
