Displaying the ultrasonic traveling wavefront by electrooptic modulation

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Displaying the ultrasonic field—in particular its traveling wavefront—has moved into the forefront of acoustics because of the development of nonlinear acoustics, acoustooptic information processing, acoustic nondestructive evaluation, etc. Many authors have studied how to display the intensity image of an acoustic field by the probing method and to display the acoustic wavefront by the stroboscopic method using pulsed light.
