Spatiotemporal blur paths for image flow estimation

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We propose an alternative method for obtaining an estimation of the optical flow of a sequence of images that does not use the fx • u + fy • v + ft = 0 and does not depend on the assumptions of it. The method works best for image sequences with nonsmooth intensity variation. The method in brief is as follows: A sequence of k images is shifted each one by a distance a and b in the direction of x and y, respectively, with respect to its previous one and added.
