Distortion-invariant filters and their use in hybrid ATRs

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

A review of synthetic discriminant function filters (SDFs) for 3-D distortion-invariant object recognition and the hybrid ATRs to implement them are presented. Projection, correlation, peak to sidelobe (PSR), and minimum autocorrelation plane energy (MACE) filters and their differing applications are addressed. General formulations of distortion-invariant filters from which all SDF filters (and their relatives) can be derived are also provided.
