Abstract

Ultrafast tunable pulses between 1300 and 1550 nm are very useful for the study and characterization of devices and materials used in optical communications systems. Recently, picosecond pulses tunable between 1180 and 1530 nm have been generated by using an actively/passively mode-locked pulse train followed by an amplifier to pump dye No. 5.1
