Abstract

Speckle is a lively and rapidly evolving field not only for the study of speckle phenomena but also for practical application. In optics, speckle metrology has now matured to the point where a whole monograph1 is available, and commercial equipment is being specially built for particular applications. But in acoustics, speckle is more commonly considered so bothersome that it is eliminated, e.g., the noise in acoustic imaging.
