Abstract

Speckle is a lively and rapidly evolving field not only for the study of speckle phenomena but also for practical application. In optics, speckle metrology has now matured to the point where a whole monograph¹ is available, and commercial equipment is being specially built for particular applications. But in acoustics, speckle is more commonly considered so bothersome that it is eliminated, e.g., the noise in acoustic imaging.
