Abstract
Nonlinear matched filtering involves incorporating nonlinear operations on the transfer function of the matched filter as well as the spectrum of the signal.1 Recent developments in optical computing hold the promise of achieving such operations routinely. Considerably better accuracy and very high resolution such as in the detection of similar, closeby signals, and their exact locations are possible with nonlinear matched filtering.
