Abstract

A model describing cw intracavity SHG of a diode-pumped system is presented based on a rate equation for the fundamental power inside the cavity given by where L1 and L2 are the linear (cavity absorption) and the nonlinear SHG loss of the cavity, G is the gain function proportional to the pumping rate and the transverse beam overlap function F. The nonlinear loss due to SHG is given by, including the pump depletion, L2 = 1- sech(y1) sech(y2), where y1 and y2 are proportional to the nonlinear coefficient of the doubling crystal and the fundamental power.
