CW mode-locked intracavity frequency doubling of the diode pumped YLF laser

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We have been investigating the performance of a diode pumped visible solid state laser as a light source for laser printing and optical memory. Here we describe cw mode locked intracavity frequency doubling (1047 nm → 523 nm) using KNbO3 in the diode pumped Nd:YLF laser with high repetition rate (270 MHz), short pulse duration (<100 ps), and high peak power (>100 mW).
