Organic and polymeric electrooptic waveguide devices

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We review the organic integrated optics field covering the synthesis of glassy polymer materials, fabrication of devices, and recent results achieved at Lockheed and by other groups. We survey current materials produced by academic and industrial efforts, some of the material properties and structures, as well as a summary of the current status of the research under way in the U.S. and abroad.
