Switching at a planar interface to a nonlinear medium

Abstract

When plane waves are incident on a nonlinear medium with a self-focusing nonlinearity, switching phenomena associated with abrupt changes in the reflection coefficient can occur near the critical angle and at specific threshold intensities.
