Photorefractive optics

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Extremely large nonlinear optical susceptibilities are achievable by photoexcitation and charge transport and charge storage in electro-optic materials. This tutorial will emphasize the various approaches which can be used to enhance photorefractive effects for image processing and phase conjugation with special reference to bulk semiconductors and superlattice structures.
