Abstract
The purpose of this tutorial is to give a brief overview of the molecular biology techniques and strategies used in the analysis of color vision. We will briefly discuss cloning, Southern blotting, Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphisms (RFLP), and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), and explain the uses of these techniques to study the molecular genetics of photopigments.
