Abstract

Coupled-cavity resonant passive modelocking (RPM) is a new simple technique to passively mode-lock laser media that have a small gain saturation cross section, such as a Ti:sapphire laser.1 We simply added an external matched cavity with a nonlinear GaAs/GaAlAs quantum-well reflector to a cw pumped Spectra Physics Ti:sapphire laser.
