Ion-exchanged glass waveguides with etched gratings

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Channel waveguides with gratings are useful components in the fabrication of integrated-optic devices. For example, they can be used to couple lights into or out of the waveguides for out-of-plane interconnects, or they can be used to filter selected wavelengths in wavelength-division multiplexing systems.
