Fiber laser incorporating internal Bragg reflectors

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Holographic Bragg grating formation, in the core of a single mode Nd3+ doped fiber, has been used to fabricate a fiber laser. Bragg gratings were produced by exposing the core to a two-beam interference pattern, with the wavelength selected to lie in the oxygen-vacancy defect band of germania near 244 nm.
