Abstract

Applications of bistable diode laser amplifiers include photonic switching, optical interconnects, and signal processing. Typically, these applications require being able to regenerate the input signal. We present a detailed study of gain in bistable diode laser amplifiers as a function of cavity detuning and for different biasing currents below threshold.
