Abstract

As the thrust to demonstrate novel optoelectronic components subsides, pressure is mounting to deliver devices routinely, to specification and on time. Along with advances in packaging and processing, high quality design tools are needed to achieve these targets. Moreover, one must combine optical analysis with electronic, thermal and mechanical design methods to model components as a whole.
