Signal recovery from subband energy constraints

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Prior knowledge of the frequency subband energy partition of an image is useful for its recovery from insufficient or noisy data. We consider how such knowledge can be associated with constraint sets and derive two algorithms for image recovery based on projection methods. One algorithm assumes prior knowledge of a reference image while the other assumes prior knowledge of a reference energy. The former leads to a convex projection algorithm while the latter leads to a generalized projection algorithm. The algorithms enable the integration of data from sensors operating in different frequency regions. Results from computer simulations are presented.
