Effects of thermal insult on optical behavior of tissue

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The effects of tissue coagulation on light and temperature distribution in laser irradiated tissue were quantified based on measurements of optical properties of thermally damaged tissue. The changes in optical properties can significantly influence the expected response.
