Abstract
For designing a hololens, we utilize the fact that the Fourier transform of a cosine grating is a pair of delta function. The spacing between the delta function is a function of the frequency of the cosine grating. By adding several cosine frequencies together one can simulate the function of one-to-many fixed interconnection network. However, in an amplitude grating the negative transmittance values are thresholded to zero. As a result, a 32-point DFT calculation reveals that the weights of the different harmonics are not equal. The sampled values are adjusted by trial and error, so that the first five orders of the Fourier transform are equal. Thus it will provide an interconnection between one input to 11 × 11 output places; earlier work has shown 5×5 connections. Next, a mask created with contact screen method that has a period of 150 LPI, and the duty cycle of the white area with respect to the total length is 1:32. Using thirty-two samples of discrete gray levels, a contact screen is fabricated using Agfa- Gevhart millimask HD plates. The fabricated grating is then tested on an optical Fourier transform setup.
