Abstract
To construct a compact optical parametric generator, one of two approaches can be used: cavity mirrors are brought as near as possible toward the LiNbO3 crystal or cavity reflection is performed by direct coating on both surfaces of the crystal. Both crystal and cavity mirrors rotate as a whole when tuning. Beams of pump frequency, signal frequency, and idler frequency are not in the same direction. The tuning curve of this non co-line matching technique differs essentially from the co-line matching curve. Two specific rotation angles, which relate to one certain signal frequency (and idler frequency), can be obtained. The tuning curve tends to be protruding for signal frequency and dented for idler frequency, respectively.
