Abstract

In recent years, pulsed and cw laser diode arrays in the form of 1-cm (nominal) bars or 2-D arrays of such bars have been successfully used in numerous diode pumped solid-state laser applications or related nonpumping applications. As a result, such bars are now viewed as readily available, reliable, and affordable.
