Parallel optical arithmetic computing architecture based on optical copy and shift modules

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We propose a new optical parallel arithmetic computing architecture using modified signed-digit (MSD) representation based on 2-D optical copy and shift modules. Operands are column and row vectors, in which each digit is spatially encoded with triplet pixels including two spacers.
