Abstract
Many organizations have become clogged with excess complexity, extra activities that are required because of builtin flaws in the system thus leaving little time for real work or those activities that are necessary to produce the product or service and the activities the customer cares about. Since this excess complexity has been with us for so long, most people do not realize how much there is and that it can be measured and reduced.
