Abstract

We describe a new way of enhancing arbitrary higher-order diffraction using a thermoplastic plate. Such an enhanced diffraction efficiency is obtained by adjusting the angle between the two recording beams that the diffraction angle of the desired order is tuned to the angle at which a thermoplastic plate gives the maximum frequency response and optimizes the exposure time. Using the method, any order can be selectively enhanced with a diffraction efficiency comparable with that of maximum attainable first order.
