Enhanced backscattering from a characterized dielectric random surface

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

An interesting phenomenon associated with the scattering of light from a randomly rough surface is that of enhanced backscattering. Normally, this phenomenon was observed with metal surfaces. Recently we have observed the enhanced backscattering from characterized 1-D and 2-D dielectric random surfaces. The far-field measurements and characterization of the surface are presented.
