Optical fabrication at Rockwell Power Systems

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Rockwell Power Systems is currently involved in the fabrication of advanced optics for a number of applications. An overview of our fabrication and metrology capability will be given. Much of our current activity is in the fabrication of optics for synchrotron beamlines. These include optics for use with x-rays or UV radiation. Cooled and uncooled optics have been fabricated, including flats, spheres, and toroids. Results of these fabrication activities will be discussed, including the metrology methods used. In addition to beamline optics fabrication, we will discuss the fabrication of more conventional optical components, including high-accuracy aspheric mirrors for advanced imaging systems.
