A method for synthesizing phase-only composite filters based on the extended interpattern association model

Abstract

A technique of extending the interpattern association (IPA) model to construct a phase-only composite filter is given. By using the logical operation rules on a set of Fourier spectral (i.e., training set), the special and the common phase features of the training set can be determined. Then, by applying the extended IPA model on the special and the common phase features, a large capacity phase-only composite fiiter can be constructed. Computer simulation results from using this model are given, and the information capacity of the extended IPA composite filter is calculated.
