Frequency shift and wavelength scanning of a BaTiO3 self-pumped phase conjugator coupled to a ring dye laser

Abstract

Based on the literature,1-4 it has been assumed that the wavelength scanning of ring dye lasers coupled to SPPCMs can be controlled. We have tested this experimentally and have found that the wavelength scan can be controlled by adding an external field when it scans initially toward the blue; this is consistent with Fischer's theory. It is a dynamic process to build up the grating inside the crystal during the scan, so that the behavior of the SPPCMs cannot be analyzed according to the static theory described in literature. We believe that in wavelength scanning initially toward the red the frequency shift cannot be used to explain the scan.
