Ultrafast dynamics of semiconductor lasers and amplifiers

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The dynamic response of semiconductor lasers is generally modeled through a set of rate equations by assuming that the dipole relaxation time, governed by the intraband scattering time 'tin-100 fs, is short enough that the semiconductor medium responds almost instantaneously to the optical field.
